If you already have Windows7 installed, but your Grand Ma still needs Windows XP then you have to make your system dual boot or multi boot if you are thinking of Linux too. Thus, in order to help you in making your system dual boot between windows, Linux or even OS X, comes in the EasyBCD.

EasyBCD  is a light weight bootloader tweaking utility. After installing the application, you can easily add entries, edit, rename or reorder entries in the bootloader sequence to customize anything of the other installed operating systems.

In order to make windows7 and windows XP dual boot, all you need to do is at firstinstall windows XP, then install windows7 and being in windows7 switch to EasyBCD to add the already installed new windows XP entry. Once this is done, you can restart your system, and you will see the dual boot screen asking you to enter the choice of operating system.

It comes with the set of tools that let you backup, restore and repair your bootloader. It also allows you to add bootable USB drives to the bootloader.

Overall, it’s a worthy tool if you are looking to set up a dual boot configuration. It saves you from mucking around boot.ini or NTLDR etc. It is windows7 only application and its size is just 1337 KB.
